My Favorite Entertainment

Literature

Outside of a dog a book is man's best friend. Inside of a dog it's too dark to read.

I tend to prefer gritty contemporary literature. The following are some of my favorite authors and works.

Ken Kesey, Sometimes a Great Notion
Joseph Heller, Catch-22
Mark Twain, short stories
Elmore Leonard
Franz Kafka, short stories

Movies

I prefer movies that are set in the real world with stories that do not depend on magic and that rely more on acting than on special effects. I tend to like independent films and dislike blockbusters. I also feel that that there is a lack of movies that portray strong, complex, or multi-dimensional female characters and so I prefer movies that do. I am not offended by depictions of sex or violence. These are some of my favorites.
